Once Julian hit six months we realized he was pretty much ready to start solid foods. He could sit up on his own and was really curious about what we were eating. We are following the baby-led weaning approach which means skipping purées and spoon-feeding, and going right to self-feeding. It’s been really fun! It’s nice to be able to give him what we’re eating instead of buying or making something separate. And I really like watching his face when he tries new things! Here are some pictures. So far he’s tried banana, avocado, broccoli, tofu, sweet potato, applesauce, oatmeal and yogurt. He seems to have liked all of them (despite his facial expressions in some of these photos) but applesauce and broccoli might be his favorites so far.

He is so cute, and such a good eater. How does his hand taste. He seems to like it a lot.
